Pre-Treatment
Difficult-to-treat species must be incised in a pattern of sufficient coverage
and density to obtain uniform penetration of the borates.

Preservation Process
Tim-bor® Industrial Wood Preservative is applied as an aqueous solution using vacuum/pressure
treating process that forces the preservative into the sapwood.

|
Following pressure treating, the wood product is covered and moved to a controlled environment
to allow the borates to diffuse further into the wood.

Post-Treatment
Plywood should be kiln-dried following pressure treatment. The moisture content should
approximate that which the product will attain in use (approximately 18 percent for general
building applications).
For lumber, re-drying after treatment is recommended. Most building codes require the
moisture content of lumber to be 19% or less at the time of installation.
